Bio

Heidi Skolnik, M.S., C.D.N., FACSM

Considered a thought leader in nutrition, and co-author of the NY TIMES bestselling book, The Whole Body Reset (Simon & Schuster, 2022), Heidi Skolnik has influenced millions through her media work, writing and thriving consulting business. For years, professional athletes, Olympians, performance artists, corporate high achievers, and individuals, have relied on Heidi to unlock their best possible performance for achieving the things they care most about in life. Her strategic approach and engaging motivational style make Heidi a winner as a guest speaker, a spokesperson, and a media guest expert. Heidi brought the sports nutrition model to the performing arts where she oversees the Performance Nutrition program at The Juilliard School & The School of American Ballet and has consulted with numerous Broadway shows including Hamilton, An American In Paris, Aladdin, and Billy Elliot.  Heidi remains at the forefront in sports nutrition in her role at the WNBA NY Liberty basketball team where is a part of the Sports Nutrition team.

 

Heidi has been part of The Women’s Sports Medicine Center at The Hospital for Special Surgery for over 20 years.  She currently is a Sport Nutritionist for WNBA Liberty team. Additionally, Heidi served as the team nutritionist with the NY Knicks (7 years), The New York Giants (18 years) and the NY Mets (15 years).

 

Heidi earned two master’s degrees, one in nutrition and the other in exercise science and has authored 5 books, including Nutrient Timing for Peak Performance (Human Kinetics, 2010), Grill Yourself Skinny (Creative Homeowners, 2013) and The Athlete Triad Playbook/REDS .


As a sought-after presenter, Heidi presents internationally and is an expert resource for both print (The Washington Post, AARP Magazine and Bulletin) on-line and TV media where she has been featured on The Today Show, The View, Good Morning America, Live! W Kelly and Michael, amongst many more shows. 

 

Heidi is a Fellow with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and was on the board of The National Osteoporosis Foundation (now BHOF) for ten years. She currently sits on the Medical Advisory Committee of The National Menopause Foundation, and the NYRR (New York Road Runners). Heidi also sits on the editorial board of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) journal Sports Health.

Heidi began her career in corporate fitness and wellness at Morgan Stanley for the Sports Training Institute.

As a realist, Heidi believes M&M’s can fit into a healthy eating style along with red peppers, red meat, broccoli, and fresh fruit.
